It includes: recommendations for physiotherapy workforce planning and preparation; a screening tool for determining requirement for physiotherapy; and recommendations for the selection of physiotherapy treatments and personal protective equipment.

It is intended for use by physiotherapists and other relevant stakeholders in the acute care setting caring for adult patients with confirmed or suspected COVID-19.

RS RIVADH / 2021-12-08 Sometimes when you wait to tick all boxes indicated for physio you most probably will allow for disease to rapidly progress thereby minimizing the effectiveness of physiotherapy at that point in time. It might be a day or 2 too late. Lots of poeple died due this "tick the box" approach. In my opinion, if i were the patient, i would prefer for my medical team to be proactive rather than reactive. We all know about Covid and learn more from experience with patients. I therefore feel that early intervention be the order of the day so as to pick up subtle changes early(discuss with Dr) and not wait for problems to occur and then respond... otherwise ,we as physios, tell pts and drs sorry i can not get involved because pt has not met physio criteria for treatment .. and 10 days later the same pt is dead because the pneumonia progressed so fast. An initial assessment should be done and then monitored to make sure pt is not worsening (which was rarely seen). Just a thought out of concern. Thank you.
