When we have a traumatic event in our lives, and these events / emotions are suppressed…...those feelings stay in our bodies. These traumatic events set up a fight - flight or freeze response. We are hard wired to react like this in order to survive.
However, when these events and emotions are not dealt with and released from the body, we over time develop “dis-ease” or emotional pain. The good news is the body knows how to heal itself for the most part, given the right conditions.
The Chinese believe we have meridians that run down our bodies, and on these meridians, we have specific points which are
known as acupuncture points. Needles are inserted into these points to unblock the stuck energy. The Japanese use much the same points using pressure to release the stuck flow of energy.
In Emotional Freedom Technique also known as EFT or Tapping, we use the fingers to tap on some of these points to address the underlying events in our lives to uncover when this first presented itself, and then to heal the belief or feeling that is still playing out in our lives presently.
Because the body does not know what is real or what is imagined, we are able to use this to “see and feel” this event differently.
The body is composed of energy. Tapping restores the body’s energy balance so healing can take place both physically & emotionally. Now you can learn to become a practitioner in a safe nurturing environment.
EFT is used as a tool to tap on different acupressure points around the body to help with PTSD, Addictions, Phobias, Physical pain, Childhood trauma and so on.
EFT has a great track record with a number of scientific studies to prove how effective it can be both as a self-help tool & in the hands of a skilled therapist to help shift the client’s perception of the painful beliefs & memories.
It can be quick & effective without needing years of therapy.
It can be used as a stand-alone therapy, or used in conjunction with other preferred method of healing.
