Fascial Manipulation© is a manual therapy that has been developed by Luigi Stecco, an Italian physiotherapist from the north of Italy. This method has evolved over the last 30 years through study and practice in the treatment of a vast caseload of musculoskeletal
problems.
Participants will learn to evaluate musculoskeletal dysfunctions, with specific reference to the human fascial system, and to apply the Fascial Manipulation technique as taught by Dr Luigi Stecco. Presentatio n will include anatomy and physiology of the fascial system, explanation of the biomechanical model used in application of this technique and the anatomical localization of key fascial points.
The evaluation of musculoskeletal dysfunctions from history taking to hypothesis to verification and treatment is emphasized, together with the methodology of treatment and treatment strategies.
Fascial Manipulation course are divided into three levels (six day by level).
Level I - addresses the myo-fascial sequences and the Centres of Coordination, where densifications that create dysfunctions within the musculoskeletal system are most commonly present.
Level II - consolidates clinical application and introduces the Centres of Fusion. These points are extremely important for proprioceptive dysfunctions.
These Levels are intended for physical therapists, osteopaths, chiropractors, medical doctors and other registered health practitioners with a good working knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy, physiology, and notions of postural analysis.
