Arie graduated as a physiotherapist from the world renowned Wingate Institute in Israel where he completed a one-year post-graduate diploma in Manual Therapy before emigrating to South Africa in 1985. In 1992, he obtained his Masters Degree in Physiotherapy from Wits University majoring in Orthopaedics.
Arie is currently in private practice in Johannesburg. He has a special interest in musculoskeletal disorders and is the official instructor for the McConnell Patellofemoral Treatment Plan in Southern Africa.
Arie established Clinical Solutions in 1996 to provide post-graduate continuing education to physiotherapists and other health care providers. He is currently actively researching the interaction between joint, muscle and nerve. Arie is the developer of the concept, Exercise and Function without Pain, which focuses on the management of neuromusculoskeletal conditions – giving patients the freedom to exercise. His presentation of the EFWP workshop was presented at the Sport Congress – Pretoria September 2013 and SASMA International Conference in October 2013. The workshop was presented to HCP country wide for the past 6 years.
His article entitled "Dynamic Oscillatory Stretching Efficacy on Hamstring Extensibility and Stretch Tolerance: A Randomized Controlled Trial" was published in The International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy in June 2017.
